teapots! 7th invitational opened Friday, April 5, 2013, at morgan contemporary glass gallery. This exciting exhibit features an evocative and out-of-the-box array of sculptures referencing the teapot form. More than 60 artists invited for the gallery's 7th teapot invitational have taken ingenuity and creativity to new heights, challenging one's notion of a teapot as exemplified by the versatility of the 80+ ceramic, fiber, glass, metal, wood and mixed media entries.

Autism Speaks Teapot

New this year, the gallery commissioned ceramist Vaughan Nelson to create a special teapot entitled Autism Speaks to benefit Autism Speaks in honor of Autism Awareness Month this April.

April 2 celebrates Light it Up Blue nationally, as well as the beginning of the gallery's month long raffle of Nelson's piece to raise money for this special organization. Autism Speaks' mission is to change the future through research, awareness and education for all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders.

Tickets for a chance to win this functional teapot are on sale through Tuesday, April 30.

To buy tickets, email us at staff@morganglassgallery.com, call us over the phone at 412.441.5200, or come into the gallery!
